Rialto Beach is part of the Olympic National Forest out on the Washington Coast, its one of my favorite places. This shot was taken one early summer day, it was still cold and windy which is normal for Washington state in the early summer. It had been a long day and I had a long drive (3 hours) back home but I couldn't pass this up.

I was born in Washington D.C. I grew up as an only child. I spent 10 years in the U.S. Air Force. I've been taking pictures all my life, I can't believe how many old photographs I have. I never realized that photography one day would save my life. About a year ago I was diagnosed as suffering from clinical depression and I probably had been depressed for years and just thought how I felt was normal, because for me it was. I was on my third marriage and that too was in trouble. I had a beautiful daughter who really was the only thing that kept me alive. I found myself depressed, lonely and financially struggling.
